Partner

Partner, Brad, is the mastermind and heart of Café Mam, making sure that each step the business takes will fall on solid ground. He’s careful not to let his boss-ship overshadow his friendship to everyone, cultivating a warm, open work environment for which we all thank our lucky stars. Brad facilitates many projects in the Eugene community and is always in great demand. His first loyalty, however, is always to his three beautiful kids - McKenzie, Logan, and Terran.

John

Partner

Partner, John, contributes his technical knowledge to Café Mam as director of our equipment program. John has served as blueberry farm manager and did a stint on the board of Oregon Tilth Certified Organic. John also serves Café Mam as an event co-coordinator and is in charge of organic certification. John’s grown children, Corey and Aeron, are now amazing baristas in their own rights... no surprise, when John is their trainer!

Dazzia

Director of Operations

Beginning in 1998 as a barista at Café Mam’s coffeeshop, Out of the Fog, Dazzia has expanded her involvement over the years to include Events Manager, Donation Coordinator and Director of Operations. She enjoys the ability to travel for the company, while spreading the word of Mam. With her bachelor's degree in Sustainability Education and Natural Resources, she brings a passion for keeping Café Mam on its toes when it comes to the most sustainable and ethical business practices.

Cheryl

Farmer Liaison & Customer Service

Cheryl joined Cafe Mam in the fall of 2005 after living in Mexico for 17 years. She brings her strong work ethic to keep the office running smoothly. Cheryl is an invaluable asset, passionate about social justice and farmer representation. She is our Co-Op Liaison, utilizing her knowledge of the Spanish language and her dedication to the coffee farmers, additionally participating in the Surveillance Committee of SPP Global (Small Producer Fair Trade Certification). Cheryl is the proud mother to two beautiful sons, Alux & Eric, and two lovely grandchildren.

Chris

Director of Business

Chris has been part of the Café Mam family since 2007. Except for his first few years in Eugene, he has always been a satellite employee. First as our Portland representative and eventually working his way into the position of Director of Business. Chris manages our supply chain and sales department and is crucial in helping develop and execute our mission-driven business's visions and goals. He brings a passion for equity and equality, human rights, and alternative business models. In his free time he can be found exploring nature or roaming around the world.

Emily

Customer Service

Emily moved to Eugene from Los Angeles in 2006 and earned degrees in Sociology, Cultural Anthropology, and Women’s & Gender Studies from the University of Oregon. She joined Mam in 2014, working across customer service, deliveries, and events, and has found her place within the Mam family. Emily is also a former board member of the Willamette Valley Sustainable Foods Alliance, supporting local food businesses. Outside of work, she enjoys time with friends and family, as well as music, arts, gardening, cooking, and crafting.

Ben

Delivery

Ben manages the Eugene–Portland delivery route, serving wholesale accounts with a personal touch. He brings over 15 years of experience in the natural food industry, including sourcing organic produce from local farmers—an aspect of the work he especially values. With a background in Latin American history and political science, he maintains a strong interest in the region. Outside of work, Ben enjoys time with his two children and being outdoors hiking, birding, botanizing, exploring, and climbing.

Megan

Community Liaison

Megan studied Latin American History, Politics, and Spanish at the University of Oregon and has worked with migrant families. She shares insights on Café Mam’s long-standing partnership with cooperatives in Chiapas, covering topics like coffee’s history, sustainability, and fair trade. Megan offers engaging presentations with stories and photos from producer partners. Contact megan@cafemam.com for more information.

Leanna

Little Bit of Everything

Leanna, a native Oregonian, comes to us from the Mt. Hood area where she acquired her love for all things coffee. She's been in the coffee industry for 14 years and her considerable skills range from barista to roaster, to delivery driver and barista trainer! When not wowing people with her coffee skills, she wows us with her amazing voice, banjo and photography skills. Leanna says, "My free time is spent with my dog, and every day I strive to be a better version of myself."

Ale

Packing Department Manager

Ale joined Café Mam in the spring of 2021. She is a proud Zapoteca, the indigenous people of Oaxaca, Mexico. She brings her culture and strong work ethic to Café Mam. Ale expertly manages our packing department and takes great care to ensure every package is safely and securely shipped worldwide. Outside of work, Ale enjoys spending time with her family and friends in her community, and makes the best tamales!

James

Delivery Manager

James comes to Café Mam with an educational background that includes degrees in conservation biology and culinary arts, and a work history that includes managing restaurant kitchens with an emphasis on organic, local, sustainably produced, and responsibly harvested and foraged foods. Leisure time is spent camping, gardening, and antagonizing Kanga the cat with stuffed mice on a string and a little red laser dot.

Carly

Customer Service

Carly joined our team in 2023 and fit right in from the start. Originally rocking our packing department, she has since become an invaluable member of the office team, where her customer service skills shine. Carly lives for her dogs, Bella and Rorschach, and loves all plants (especially carnivorous ones!). She is grateful to have found a home at Café Mam and "to work for and with people that have such amazing morals and ethics."

Leda has lived in Oregon since 2001, drawn by its natural beauty. With years of experience as a small business owner in the food industry, she has spent the past 15 years promoting sustainability for local businesses and communities. She now serves as Café Mam’s Wholesale Accounts Manager, supporting partners with ethically sourced coffee.

Office Support Pup

Penelope-Prudence joined our office in 2020. She is a 5 year old Boston Terrier who enjoys snuggles and butt scratches, showing off her many tricks, begging for treats, and snoring very loudly. She loves being our emotional support pup, bringing a smile to everyone who meets her.

In Memoriam: dahinda meda

In Memoriam: Dahinda Meda

Founding partner, dahinda meda, was a steward of organic farmland in Eugene, Baja and northern California, and was an inspired visionary who played an important role in bringing organic agriculture to the forefront that it is now. Café Mam is a product of one of these visions, for which we all owe a debt of gratitude. dahinda passed on in 2016, and is deeply missed.
